Email Migration FAQs
How long does an email migration take?
Small migrations (5-25 mailboxes) finish in 1-2 weeks, including staging and user training. Larger migrations (50-400 mailboxes) run 3-8 weeks depending on source platform, data volume, and cutover windows.
Will we lose any mail during the migration?
No. We run delta syncs before and at cutover so any mail received during the cutover window gets copied into the new mailbox. Worst-case zero lost mail, worst-case duplicate copies that we clean up post-cutover.
Can you migrate from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 or vice versa?
Yes. Both directions, including calendar, contacts, Drive to OneDrive, and shared drive to SharePoint data. Ruleset and permission mapping is included.
What about our existing rules, signatures, and out-of-office?
Rules, signatures, auto-replies, and delegation permissions are all documented in the pre-migration audit and re-created in the destination tenant. Users see no loss of workflow.
Do you handle the DNS cutover and MX record change?
Yes. We plan DNS TTL reductions ahead of cutover, execute the MX and Autodiscover changes at the cutover window, and monitor mail flow for 48 hours afterwards to catch any delivery issues.
How much does a typical email migration cost?
10-mailbox migration typically pricing on request fixed-fee. 50-mailbox pricing on request. Larger engagements quoted after a readiness audit.
Can you train staff on the new email platform?
Yes. Included in the project. On-site or remote sessions covering mail, calendar, and file access. We also provide written quick-start guides for later reference.
What post-migration support is included?
30 days of priority user support covering any migration-related issues (missing mail, permissions, shared mailboxes, rules). After that, ad-hoc or retainer billing applies.
